VISSIM software includes simulation of all signal timing, bus lanes, pedestrians and bicycles, and can simulate mixed traffic situations. In addition, VISSIM can simulate intersections with various forms of traffic control, including intersections with yield signs, stop signs, signalization, and a combination of all three.
VISSIM software is able to output a series of calculated parameters after the simulation, so that engineers can compare and evaluate the designed solutions.
VISSIM can provide four-dimensional animation. “Four-dimensional” refers to the three-dimensional road network and vehicles and time and then combined. This feature allows the user to generate realistic video clips in AVI format, thus providing an excellent tool for communicating project presentations. vissim can also use aerial photographs and CAD files as background files for simulations.
